Exploring Nashville and surrounding areas one meal at a time.
Hattie B's brings Nashville hot chicken to a whole new level. Located in the heart of Midtown, this place offers a variety of spice levels from "Southern" (no heat) to "Shut the Cluck Up" (extremely hot).
I tried the medium heat level on their chicken tenders with mac and cheese and collard greens as sides. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The heat level was just right for me, providing a nice burn without being overwhelming.
The sides were stellar as well - the mac and cheese was creamy and rich, and the collard greens had a perfect balance of savory and tangy flavors. Service was quick despite the line, and the atmosphere was casual and energetic.
Definitely worth the wait in line, and a must-visit spot for Nashville visitors!
Five Points Pizza in East Nashville serves up some of the most authentic New York-style pizza I've found in the city. The East Nashville location has a great atmosphere with exposed brick walls and a casual, neighborhood vibe.
I ordered a large half pepperoni, half prosciutto and basil pizza, along with their garlic knots. The crust was perfect - thin and crispy with just the right amount of chew. The sauce had a great balance of sweetness and tanginess, and they don't skimp on the cheese.
The garlic knots were a highlight - soft, pillowy bread absolutely smothered in garlic, butter, and parmesan. They come with a side of their marinara sauce which was delicious for dipping.
With friendly service and excellent pizza that holds up even as takeout, Five Points has earned its reputation as one of Nashville's best pizza joints.
